Ingredients
Java Brucea Fruit Extract Fructus Bruceae Extract (Ya Dan Zi) It helps with malarial attacks and to relieve dysentery.
Lycium Chinese Root Bark or Chinese Wolfberry Root Bark (Di Gu Pi) It helps with afternoon fever and night sweating in consumptive diseases; cough, hemoptysis (the coughing up of blood or mucus containing blood) and epistaxis (nose bleeds) due to heat in the lung and diabetes caused by internal heat.
Purslane or Portulaca (Ma Chi Xian) It helps for lessening the elimination of urine, constipation, liver complaints, dysentery, lung infection, and bleeding gums, treats sores – carbuncles, red-white leucorrhea. Also, used as an antidote for wasp stings and snakebites.
Aloe Vera: Used as a laxative or cathartic. It is also used orally for seizures, asthma, colds, ulcers, bleeding, amenorrhea, colitis, depression, diabetes, glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, hemorrhoids, peptic ulcers, varicose veins, bursitis, arthritis, and vision problems and kills parasites.
Salvia Root (Dan Shen): Used for circulation problems, ischemic stroke, angina pectoris, and other cardiovascular diseases. It is also used orally for menstrual problems, chronic hepatitis, abdominal masses, insomnia due to palpitations and tight chest, acne, psoriasis, eczema, and other skin conditions. Dan Shen is also used orally to relieve bruising and to aid in wound healing.
White Peony Root (Bai ShaoYao): Calms the liver, alleviates pain, regulates menses due to blood deficiency.
Scultellaria Root or Baikal Skullcap Root (Huang Qin): is used to treat respiratory and gastrointestinal infections, allergic rhinitis, jaundice, viral hepatitis, nephritis, pelvic inflammation, sores or swelling, and fever. It is also used orally for scarlet fever, headache, irritability, red eyes, flushed face, seizures, epilepsy, hysteria, nervous tension, and a bitter taste in the mouth.
In combination with shung hua, Huang Qin/Baikal skullcap constituent baicalin is used to treat upper respiratory tract infections. In combination with other herbs, Baikal skullcap is used to treat minimal brain dysfunction, prostate cancer, and hemorrhoids. Huang Qin/Baikal skullcap helps with, irritability, thirst, cough, diarrhea, dysentery, thirst with no desire to drink, stop bleeding, vomit/cough blood, nosebleed, blood in stool, and calms fetus.
Coptis Chinensis Rhizome (Huang Lian) is used for digestive disorders. – high fever, irritability, disorientation, delirium, painful-red eyes, sore throat, boils carbuncles, abscesses – insomnia -topically – red-painful ulcerations.
Oldenlandia (Bai Hua Shi Shi Cao) Helps strengthen the liver, stomach and large intestines. It helps reduce abscess, toxic sores, ulcerations, and swellings. It helps counter act snakebites (internal and external application) – promotes urination, and jaundice.
Discorea Opposita Rhizome or Chinese Yao (Shan Yao) Helps strengthen the spleen, stomach and lung.
Dried Ginger (Sheng Jiang)
Orally, Sheng Jiang is used for motion sickness, morning sickness, colic, dyspepsia, flatulence, chemotherapy-induced nausea, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, loss of appetite, post-surgical nausea and vomiting, migraine headache, and for discontinuing selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) drug therapy. It is also used orally for anorexia, upper respiratory tract infections, cough, bronchitis, and as a galactagogue (an agent that stimulates the production and flow of breast milk).
Topically, the fresh juice of ginger is used for treating thermal burns. The essential oil of ginger is used topically as an analgesic. Also in Chinese Medicine, Sheng Jiang is used as a diaphoretic, diuretic, and stimulant. Sheng Jiang is also used in Chinese Medicine for treating stomach ache, diarrhea, nausea, cholera, and bleeding. Fresh ginger is used orally for treating acute bacterial dysentery, baldness, malaria, Orchitis (inflammation of one or both testicles, usually caused by infection. It can also develop in mumps, and if both testicles are affected, it may result in sterility), poisonous snake bites, rheumatism, and toothaches. The oleoresin of ginger is also used as an ingredient in digestive, laxative, antitussive (controlling coughing), anti-flatulent (having excessive gas in the digestive system), and antacid preparations.
